Mary Rachel Clem, 89, of Elkmont, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at Athens Rehabilitation Center.
The daughter of the late Leroy and Annabelle McCluskey Putman, Mrs. Clem was also preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Clem; son, Dural (Janice) Clem; siblings, Cecil Putman, Robert “Bob” Putman, Catherine Putman Chambers, Grady Putman, and Lois Putman Appleton, as well as one granddaughter, Jennifer Clem Jackson.
She is survived by one sister, Ruth Putman Chambers; grandchildren, Erica (Don) Lane, Christy (Stephen) Kearley; great-grandchildren, Preston (Bethney) Lane, Mason Jackson, Max Kearley and David Kearley; and great great-grandchildren, Jasper, Sawyer and Bryce Lane. Numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews also survive.
There will be a visitation for Mrs. Clem at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama, on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, from 12:00 noon until 1:00 PM. A chapel service will follow the visitation starting at 1:00 PM. Bro. James Swindell will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Hasting Cemetery.
