Mary Powellette Swanson, 80, passed away January 20, 2025 at her home surrounded by her children. She loved God, her children and grandchildren. She was a hard worker and loved flowers. She was a member of Randolph Church of Christ and attended until her health declined. She leaves behind her beloved pet, Penny.
Services will be at 2:00pm Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Oak Forest Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors, son, Marvin White; daughter, Sunshine Jenkins; grandchildren, Dixie Jenkins, Reed Jenkins, Dannelle Ennis, Kevin Thompson, Damon Brown, Kenny Brown, Hannah Key, Pamela Domingues and Cherie Page; and a bonus son, Anthony Horne; brothers, Ladell Swanson, Nathan Swanson and Robert Swanson; and a sister, Nancy Swanson.
Preceded in death by, 2 sons, Joseph Brown and Joel Brown; a daughter, Paula White; parents, James Powell and Mary Magdalene Swanson; sisters, Maxine Canerdy and Wandalene Dodson; brothers, Eugene, Paul and David Swanson.
Pallbearers, Reed Jenkins, Colby Roberts, Drew Carter, Justin Carwile and Chris Moss.
Visitation, 5-8pm Wednesday, January 22, 2025 and 1pm until service time Thursday, January 23, 2025.
