Mary Plylar Horton, 86, of Russellville, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, at her residence.
Mrs. Horton was a lifetime resident of Franklin County and a member of North Russellville Baptist Church. She was the owner of Lily’s Beauty Shop.
Mary loved going to the senior center, and she loved flowers. She was known for her African violets. People loved coming by to see her violets. She also carried the violets to Nashville to the flea market.
The funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with burial in Franklin Memory Gardens. Officiating will be Dwayne Crumley and Mike Morrow. The family will receive friends from 1-3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Survivors include sister, Leslie Moody, Double Springs; sister-in-law, Fern Plylar, Russellville; nieces, Belinda Holland, Shirley Rice, Susan Webb, Freda Clark, Susie Laupp, Virginia Morton, Deborah Hamilton; nephews, Jimmy James, Ronnie Moody, Tommy Plylar, Bob Seay; special friends, Barbara Smith and Polly Burcham.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy James, Rusty Plylar, Heath Smith, Bryan Smith, Tony James and Tommy Plylar.
Honorary bearer is Greg Williams.
She was preceded in death by spouse, James Wesley Horton; father, Maud Plylar; mother, Susie Bendall Plylar; brother, Travis Plylar; sisters, Nancy Tompkins and Velma Padilla.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital .
Pinkard Funeral Home will be directing.
