Mary Nunley, 93, of Rogersville passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Dekalb Community Hospital in Smithville, TN. Visitation will be from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, February 14 at Elkins East Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Corum Cemetery in Lexington.
A native of Lauderdale County, Mary retired from the Ford Motor Company after 26 ½ years and was a volunteer at the Help Center. A former member of the First Baptist Church in Florence and the First Methodist Church in Tracy, Tenn., she attended any church service available wherever she lived. Mary was fortunate to have been cared for by God’s greater community.
Survivors include her daughter, Margaret Nunley Tepley (Steve) of Altamont, Tenn.; son, Frank H. Nunley (Lynn) of San Jose, Calif.; grandchildren, Frank Nunley (Sarah), Jim Nunley (Kim), Chuck Nunley (Claudia), and Caledonia Nunley Harrison; five grandchildren; sister-in-law, Mildred Corum; and several nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Frank H. Nunley, brothers, Almon Corum, Sam Corum and Villard Corum; and sisters, Lavonia Corum and Evelyn Waddell.
