Mary Nell Rich  Ms. Mary Nell Turner Rich, age 87, of Millport, AL, passed away Thursday, July 15, at her son’s residence in Vernon.

Ms. Rich was born April 18, 1934, in Millport, AL, to the late Grover Cleveland Turner and Geneva Mae Sloan Turner.  She worked at the Lamar County Sherriff’s and later worked in the library in the Lamar County Schools.  She was also a member of Mt. Harmony Free Will Baptist Church and Lamar County School Teachers Association.  In addition to her parents, Ms. Rich was also preceded in death by her brothers, James Luther Turner, Louis Donald (Ruby) Turner, and Roosevelt (Patty Nell) Turner; her sisters, Zola Frances (Jack) Baggett, Lois Elizabeth Turner, and Ruby Lee (Lamar) Yarbrough; and her son-in-law, Earl Albert “Bud” Truett.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 17, at 11:30 AM, in the chapel of Chandler Funeral Home, with Bro. Danny Thompson officiating.  Graveside services will follow at Walnut Grove.  Visitation will be Saturday, 10:30-11:30 prior to the service.

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Lynne Truett and Vicki Renee (Billy Gene) Hallman; two sons, James “Jim” Chandler (Tracy) Rich, Jr. and Jason Christopher (Allison) Rich; one sister, Louise (Clinton “Red”) Freeman; four grandchildren, Brian (Tracy) Fields, Justin (Opal) Hallman, Britany (Jesse) Walters, and Kayla (Kyle) Matthews; and five great-grandchildren, Blaine, ,Brody, Charley, Brody, and Linton.
