Mary “Mary B” Burris
Mary Sue Moses Burris, 81 of Rogersville, died Thursday, September 19 2013. She was a retired surgical nurse from Colonial Manor Hospital. She and her deceased husband, Melvin Kenneth Burris Sr., were married for fifty-seven plus years and were antique dealers in Alabama, Tennessee and beyond. They owned Mary B Antiques in Rogersville, AL and were vendors at the Nashville Flea Market for over 30 years. She is preceded in death by her parents Otis B. and Vesta Moses, infant sister Alice Lynn Moses and brother, Jimmy Wayne Moses all of Tennessee. Mrs. Burris is survived by her son Melvin Kenneth Burris Jr. and his wife Kathy of Houston, Texas and her daughter Vickie Burris Slatton and her husband Wade of Rogersville, AL. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Heather Burris Kutz of Ashburn, VA, Jillian Hall of Knoxville, TN, Matthew Burris of Philadelphia, PA and Taylor Burris of Sinking Spring, PA; her great-grandchildren: Kenneth Hall, Sophia Kutz and Grant Kutz; brothers Don Moses and wife Johnnie and Charles B. Moses and his wife Joanne of Tennessee and her beloved pet Little Bit. Special thanks to staff and nurses in ECM’s cardiac care, third floor and sixth floor palliative care.
