Mary Margaret Brown, 87, of Lacey’s Spring, the Union Hill Community, died Monday January 30, 2017 at Whitesburg Gardens in Huntsville.
Mrs. Brown was born March 9, 1929 in Marshall County to John David Haga and Daisy Eudora Crier Haga. She worked for Genesco Shoe Company in assembly until her retirement. Her husband, Luther Delmos Brown preceded her in death on April 22, 1985. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, taking care of her family and she loved Blue Grass Gospel Singing.
Mrs. Brown was a member of Valhermosa Springs Holiness Church.
She is survived by her children and in-laws: Jackie Dale and Brenda Brown, Danny Wayne and Gloria Brown, Betty Carolyn and Kenneth Carey, Barbara Ann and Bobby Atchley and Theresa Jean and Thomas Hoot; nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Daisy Haga; two sisters: Essie Biles and Ethel Mae Johnson and two brothers: Clifford Haga and Billy Gene Haga.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday February 2, 2017 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City with Brothers: J.A. Sasser and Jerry Atchley, officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery with Brindlee Mountain Chapel and Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Steve Carey, Jonathan Brown, Heath Brown, Chris West, Tony Hatfield and Shawn Brown.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeff Hoot and Jason Hoot.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City.
