Mary Magdalene Wooten, 74, of Sheffield, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013. Visitation will be 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at the Abundant Grace Church, Sheffield. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment will follow in Sheffield Oakwood Cemetery. Pastor Steve Pochop will officiate.
She was a native of Florence, Ala. and a member of the Abundant Grace Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Edward Wooten; her parents, Robert Lee Edward McBride and Zeffie Goins McBride; and a host of brothers; and sisters.
Survivors are her husband, James Orvil Wooten; her son Freddie Junior Wooten (Gloria); her daughters, Linda Poole (Darrell), Mary Ellen Lawrence, April Mitchell (Steve), Glory Morgan, Charlene Davis (Ronnie) and Darlene Bray; her sister, Della Smith; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Lawrence, Tanner Mitchell, Danny McMurry, Tylar McMurry, Cody Davis, Eddie Wooten and Joshua Calvert.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jon Calvert, Jim Calvert, Jacob Calvert, Derek Lawrence and Dylan Lawrence.
Morrison Funeral Home Tuscumbia is directing.
