Mary M. Moody, 84 of Madison, passed away on March 14, 2014 at her residence with her family by her side.
Mrs. Moody grew up in Florence but later moved to Birmingham for her job. She returned to the Huntsville/Madison area after retirement. She was a very positive, fun loving and active lady. Mrs. Moody was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Huntsville. She enjoyed china and picture painting, volunteering at Morris Elementary School and with Meals on Wheels. She was the best mother you could ever wish for and was loved by many.
She is predeceased by her husband, James Phillip Terry; second husband, Chuck Moody; her parents, Bramlett and Virginia O’Steen; infant son, James Phillip Terry II, one sister and two brothers.
Mrs. Moody is survived by her son, Bruce Terry; daughter and caregiver, Phyllis Knox (Richard); grandchildren, Ricky Knox, Cindy Tanner, Dawn Newton and Brittany Knox; great grandchildren, Kameron Knox, Taylor Knox, Brandon Tanner, Leah Knox, Rockell Newton and Xyra Newton.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Amedisys Hospice, special friends, Bob and Lil Wood, Joy Coleman, Billie Scott’s Sunday School Class, Upper Room Sunday School Class and all who visited or called.
A memorial service is planned for Wednesday March 19, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the First United Methodist Church in Huntsville with Coy Hallmark officiating. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amedisys Hospice or to the First United Methodist Church of Huntsville
