Mary Lucille (Harris) Conway, age 91, of Union Grove, passed away Friday, February 17, 2023, at her residence.
Her funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Albertville Memorial Chapel with burial to follow at Memory Hill Cemetery. Rev. Richard Barham will officiate. The pallbearers will be family and friends. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the funeral home.
She is survived by son; Charles E. (Butch) Conway, daughter; Connie Y. Coleman, grandchildren; Christina S. (Chrissy) Coleman and Daniel C. Coleman (Sandi), sand a sister; Lenora S. (Sue) Parker.
She is preceded in death by parents; A. N. Harris and Beulah E. (Bishop) Harris, husband; Charles Calvin Conway, brothers; William C. (Buck) Harris , James W. (Cull) Harris, and Anderson L. (Lee) Harris, sisters; Florence E. Gordon, Mae E. Deerman, Edith L. Barnes, and Margaret G. Cornelius, granddaughters; Lisa and Kelli Coleman, and daughter-in-law; Sharon M. (Anderson) Conway.
Ms. Conway was born August 12, 1931 in Rockmart, Georgia. She grew up in Guntersville and lived in the mill village. She played softball in a league in the 1940’s. She was the first woman to be government certified to inspect aircraft parts (Zyglo) in California. She lived in Frisco City, Alabama, until 1976 and moved to North Alabama in 2019.
