Mary Louise Stewart Wade – Obituary

Mary Louise Stewart Wade, formerly of Florence, passed away with her family at her side on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at the age of 86.

Mrs. Wade was born to the late Andrew and Pearl Stewart on April 28, 1927, in Morgan County. She married the late James Cecil Wade on July 28, 1951. She lived most of her life in Florence and was an active member of Lee Heights Baptist Church for over 40 years.

Mrs. Wade loved her family and took good care of them; at times opening her home to family members in need. She loved to cook and provide for others. In fact, she began cooking for her family of 11 at ten years of age. She was a wonderful cook and family, friends, and church members well and often over the years.

Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James Cecil Wade, and many beloved family and friends.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Darby (Steve), of Sylva, N.C., and Marilyn Wade, of Nashville, Tenn.; grandchildren, Bradley Smith (Amanda), of Apalachicola, Fla., and Stephanie Woods (Anthony), of Madison, Ala; sister, Clara Jenkins, of Decatur; brothers, Aulton Stewart, of Hartselle, Preston Stewart (Minnie), and Leldon Stewart (Genevieve), of Trinity; and many nieces and nephews.

On Wednesday morning, Feb. 19, 2014, visitation will begin at 10 a.m. with the funeral service immediately following at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home in Trinity, Ala. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Caddo Cemetery.
