Mary, fondly known as “Weezie,” was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.

Born November 18, 1936, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Weezie was a woman of extraordinary grace, faith, and strength. She dedicated her life to her family and earned the love and respect of everyone who knew her.

Weezie was the devoted wife of the late Donald Theodore Lemon, with whom she shared many happy years. Together, they raised six wonderful children, each of whom was the light of her life. She was a proud mother who cherished the unique qualities of each of her children, and she held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Weezie was known for her adventurous spirit and zest for life. She was a world traveler, always eager to explore new places and experience new things. While caring for her late husband in New Orleans, she earned the affectionate title of “Queen of New Orleans” among her family and friends.

Her faith in God was the cornerstone of her life. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Florence. Her strong belief in the power of prayer and her unwavering trust in God guided her through life’s challenges, and she was a source of comfort to those around her.

Weezie will be remembered for her warm smile and her generous spirit. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and unwavering love.

She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Theodore Lemon; sons, Monty “Tego” Theodore Lemon and William Lance Lemon; and grandson, William Chase Lemon.

She is survived by her sons, Lane Lemon, Ronnie Lemon (Paula), Scott Lemon (Sara); daughter Lisa Brewer (COL (Ret.) Riley Brewer); grandchildren, Tosha-Paige (Brewer) Whitten (Christopher), Lance Lemon (Courtney), Nicole Miranda, and Emy-Lee Miranda; great-grandchildren, Walker Rex Whitten, Camilla Anne Whitten, Conrad Page Whitten, Bentley Michael Lemon, Leighton Savannah Rae Lemon, and John Albert Levert, all of whom were her greatest joy.

Her memory will be cherished by her family, her friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A celebration of Weezie’s life will be held at Greenview Memorial in Florence, Alabama, on Friday, August 16. Friends are invited to join the family for visitation from 10 a.m.-11 a.m., with a graveside service to follow at Greenview Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers include Lane Lemon, Ronnie Lemon, Scott Lemon, COL (Ret.) Riley Brewer, Christopher Whitten, and Mark Wood.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to her caregivers and doctors who assisted us with her thorough and tentative care over the years. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Weezie will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved her
