Mary Lou Clark, age 92, of Jasper, Alabama acquired her wings to heaven and met her Lord on January 3, 2026. Born on August 27, 1933, she was the daughter of Mary Jess Lankford and Hersel Lankford of Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lynn D. Clark, Jr. and by her parents.
Mary Lou is survived by her brother, Robert Lankford of California, and by her children, Casey C. Panter, and husband Bly Panter (Decatur, Alabama), Rand S. Clark and wife, Joy Clark (Jasper), and Chaney L. Clark (Jasper), and by four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A devoted member of Northside Baptist Church in Jasper, Mary Lou dedicated many years of service to the Walker County Department of Human Resources before retiring. For the final two years of her life, she resided at Water Oak Villa memory care facility in Jasper.
Mary Lou will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will remember her for her kindness, generosity, and her faith. At her request, there will be no visitation and a graveside service will be held for family and close friends only on Thursday, January 8th at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery. Memorials are to be made to Northside Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
