Mary Locene Shaddix, 82, of Red Bay, Alabama, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2014, at the Russellville Hospital. She was born in the Burnout community to Walter Lee and Lottie Safronia Shewbart. She was retired from AT&T after 30 years and was a member of Burnout Missionary Baptist Church.
Services will be today at 2 p.m. at Burnout Missionary Baptist Church with Brother Danny Stanford and Brother Dan Hindman officiating. Burial will be in Burnout Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two brothers, Walter Shewbart Jr. and Lelion Shewbart (Willodean); eight nieces and nephews, Diana Marcello, Dorothy Gober, Martha Holt, Genice Owen, Janice Irvin, Danny Shewbart, Tony Shewbart, and Renee Harris; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Hoyt Shewbart, and two nephews.
Pallbearers will be Donald Gober, Rodney Irvin, Danny Shewbart, Forbus Shewbart, Daryl Gober, and Derek Gober.
Visitation will be today, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Burnout Missionary Baptist Church.
