Mary L. Whitaker, age 70 of Tullahoma, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on August 31, 1951 in East Chicago, IN to the late James and Delores Spoor Culver. Mary was a giving and caring person who would sacrifice things for herself to make sure someone else was taken care of and had the things they needed. She would often make care packages for her friends when they were sick, so they knew she loved them and wanted them to feel better. Mary was a member of the Quilting Guild of Tullahoma. All the quilts she made were made with love and given to her friends and family. She was also artistic and enjoyed writing poetry and oil painting. Mary was an all-around good-hearted person. She will be remembered as clever, witty, graceful, very organized and highly intelligent woman. Mary will be greatly missed by all that knew her. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Merl and Gail Spoor and brother, James Culver. She is survived by her husband of twenty-four years, Benny Whitaker; children, Kimberly A. (Shannon) Miller, Tammy (Daniel) Randall, and Angie (Rich Sleziak) Cleveland; grandchildren, Heather J. (Jeremy) Severs, Alexis Cleveland, Brent Vogt, Tatum (James Stanley) Cleveland, Baylor Sleziak; great grandchildren, Audrey, Maci, Callie and Laurel Severs; and siblings, Michael Culver and Wanda Brown.
