Mary Juanita Shirley, age 92 of Sheffield, died Thursday, April 11, 2013. Her family will receive friends Saturday, 6 until 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home of Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will be Sunday, 2 p.m. at York Terrace Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Shewbart and Rev. Chad Holder officiating. Her body to lie in state from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Sheffield.
Mrs. Shirley was a lifelong resident of Sheffield and a member of York Terrace Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son, Robert Walton Shirley Jr., and wife Debbie; grandchildren, Bobby Shirley and wife Anna, Molly Shirley Wilson and husband Will; great grandchildren, Norah Ruth Shirley and Josiah Walton Shirley.
Pallbearers are Bill Cunningham, Jimmy Holland, Bobby Gray, Bobby Burden and Mike Boston.
Honorary Pallbearers are Ray O’Conner, Bob Glover, Frank Bishop, Jim Holland, Mike Holland and Ray Johnston.
Mrs. Shirley’s family expresses special thanks to her caregivers; Mary Cait, Wanda, Amy, Brittney, Amy, and Amedysis Hospice.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Sheffield Music Ministry or Covenant Christian School Outdoor Classroom.
