Mary Jo Vantrees

Mary Jo Vantrees was born January 15, 1941 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Gasten Lusk Sr. and Jo Willie Hurst Lusk.

She was saved and raised in the Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Selmer. She retired from Brown Shoe Factory after 25 years of dedication and hard work. She enjoyed playing solitaire, watching westerns and putting together puzzles.

Mrs. Vantrees departed this life on August 29, 2019 in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 78 Years, 7 Months, 14 Days. She leaves to cherish her memory three sons, William (Tony) Westbrooks, Steve Westbrooks and wife Patricia, Charles (Chuck) Westbrooks all of Selmer, Tennessee; a sister, Mary Francis Walker of Memphis, TN; nine grandchildren, Latoya Riddles of Atlanta, GA, Jalessa Westbrooks of Clifton, TN, Cassandra Westbrooks of Selmer, TN, Steven Westbrooks of Selmer, TN, Adam Westbrooks of Selmer, TN, Anthony Westbrooks of Marion, AR, Aaron Westbrooks of Marion, AR, Austin Westbrooks of Marion, AR, Shawntez Westbrooks of Corinth, MS; six great grandchildren, Nevaeh Parker, Carter Genes, Makayla Lowery, Tyler Riddles, Alyssa Riddles, K’Shawn Westbrooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vantrees was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Vantrees; a son, Joe Allen Westbrooks; two great grandchildren, Steven Joshua Westbrooks and Elisha Jerome Westbrooks; three sisters, Dorothy Rivers, Althelia (Dutchess) Mabry, and Helen Brown; four brothers, Gasten Lusk Jr., Charles Lusk, Larling (Gene) Lusk, Willie Mertt Lusk.
