Mary Jo Gross, 82, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Sunday, September 16, 2012, at the Tishomingo Community Living Center. Mrs. Gross was a member of the Iuka Church of Christ and a homemaker. She loved quilting, flower gardening, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, and painting. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 18, graveside at Cypress Grove Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Bro. Rodney Windham. Interment will follow in Cypress Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Daniel Newsom, Tommy Newsom, Jr., Joseph Simpson, Gary Deatherage, Brandon Holland, and William Crossett. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include two sons, Delmar Newsom, Jr. and wife, Nancy, and Tommy Newsom, all of Iuka, MS; one daughter, Wanda Crossett and husband, William, of Iuka, MS; sixteen grandchildren, Holly Garner, Yolanda Holland, Joseph Simpson, Stephanie Moore, April Robertson, Gary Deatherage, Andy Newsom, Micah Roberts, Mandy Roberts, Lisa Newsom, Jenniffer Manka, Tonya Taylor, Tommy Newsom, Jr., Daniel Newsom, Vanessa Newsom, and Thomas Jefferson Newsom; thirty great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Delmar Pasley Newson, Sr. and Raymond Gross; two daughters, Patty Green and Judy Carol Newsom; a grandchild, Delmar Pasley “Pat” Newsom, III; her parents, Paden Medley and Bertha Hayes Anglin; and three sisters, Lucille Ramage, Laura Jean Lomenick, and Sarah Fatherree.
