Mary Jo Dickson Grooms Profile Photo Mary Jo, fondly known as Jo, passed away peacefully at her tome on June 30, 2026 at the age of 95. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

She was united in marriage to Kenneth Grooms on June 8, 1947.

Jo worked at Savannah Manufacturing in Savannah, Tennessee, Murner Mills of Adamsville, Tennessee, Saltillo Manufacturing in Saltillo, Tennessee, and also helped her husband farm, raise a garden and they ran a dairy for 20 years. They also through the years raised chickens, hogs, and beef cattle.

She loved traveling, gardening, and took great pride in her home. Jo loved children and was a favorite Aunt to many.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Kenneth Grooms, her parents, Joseph and Alice Bridges Dickson, her sister, Jimmie Ielaidnis, her brother-in-law, John Ielaidnis of Montgomery, Alabama, half brother, Arlie Rushing of Michigan, niece Wendy McKinney of Moss Point, Mississippi, and great nephew, Patrick Wolf of Montgomery, Alabama.

Jo is survived by three nieces, Judy (Philip) Smith of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Lorie (Nick) Wolf of Montgomery, Alabama, and Dawn Rushing of Michigan; five nephews, Alex McKinney, Christopher McKinney, John Franklin McKinney, Jeremy Smith, Bryant Smith; and one great niece, Allie (Josh) Obregon.

She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
