Mary Jeanette Hollis, 84, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2025.
Jeanette was born in Alpine, TN and moved to Huntsville in 1957. She graduated from Huntsville High School in 1958, where she was a majorette. Jeanette married her high school sweetheart, Paul Hollis, and they were married for over 50 years before his death in 2013.
After having served as a bookkeeper for Paul’s men’s clothing business, she had a long career at First Alabama Bank (now Regions) beginning in the 1970s. She started as a teller and retired as head of International Trade at Regions Bank. Prior to her banking career, Jeanette raised three children. She also taught Sunday school.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Sarah Nell Wilhite, and brother, Bruce McDonald.
Survivors include her children, Lane Hollis (Deanna), Chris Hollis (Shannon Rae), and Mary Grace McCorvey (Jeff); ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Fay Hurt and Ann Barnes; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A private burial will be held.
