OI880206173_hayes1Funeral for Mary Jean Hayes, 60 of Decatur will be noon, Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Macedonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America with the Reverend Charles Cunningham officiating and inhumation to follow in Decatur City Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be Thursday from 2-7 and Friday from 10-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Mary Jean Hayes was born in North Courtland, Alabama on October 29, 1954 to the late Rosie Lucille Hayes Newman and George Woods. She departed this life on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at her residence.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined First Baptist Church in Courtland. She later united with Calvary Assembly under the spiritual guidance of Pastor Sawyer. Mary was employed as a domestic worker in private homes for many years.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Rosie Hayes Newman and George Woods; one sister, Geneva Crutch; two brothers, James Edward Crutch and Samuel Crutch.

She leaves to cherish her memory: three children, Pamela E. Hayes of Decatur, Angela (William) Johnson of Huntsville and Jeremy Hayes of Decatur; 11 grandchildren, Nateisha Clopton, Tamela Spangler, Jeremy Hayes Jr., Jarvis Hayes and Justin Hayes all of Decatur, Terry Clopton Jr. and Conelius Spangler both of Courtland, D’Shermya Johnson, Dameisha Johnson, Dominique Bennett and Devin Bennett all of Huntsville; 25 great-grandchildren; one sister, Willodean Howard of Jacksonville, FL; one nephew, two nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.

Flower Bearers will be family and friends.

Pallbearers will be Shermaine Johnson, Dominique Bennett, Devin Bennett, Jeremy Hayes Jr., Cornelius Spangler and Terry Clopton Jr.
