Mary Jane Smith Shelton 84, of Elkmont, AL died Friday, July 24, 2020 at her home.
Born Thursday, June 4, 1936 in Limestone County, AL, she was the daughter of John David Smith and Maggie Ruth Maddox Smith. She lived all her life in Limestone County, and was an avid gardener.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, C.H. Shelton; son, David Randall King; sisters, Clara Hall, Louise Jean, Betty Dean Williams; and brothers Roy Smith, Clifford Smith, and Allen Smith.
She is survived by her son, Darryl (Sylvia) Shelton , Elkmont, AL; daughters, Connie (Grant) Clinard, Elkmont, AL, Brenda Whitehead, Fayetteville, TN, and Charlotte (Larry) Holt, Elkmont, AL; sister, Ruth Ann Allen, Elkmont, AL; nine grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
The family will have a private service. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
