Services for Mary Jane Scott, age 85, will be held on Saturday November 7, 2020 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Shelton Funeral Home with Brent Smith officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery at Trenton, TN. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday November 7, 2020 starting at noon until service time at 2 PM at Shelton Funeral Home. Appropriate social distancing protocols with masks recommended, will be observed as set forth by the CDC and the State of Tennessee.
Mary Jane Scott, age 85, mother of four and a retired teacher passed away at Trenton Healthcare in Trenton on November 3, 2020 with her family at her side. Mrs. Scott was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Scott was born in Humboldt, TN but soon moved to and grew up in Dyersburg. Mrs. Scott married the love of her life, Robert Scott, on February 7, 1954 and they were married for nearly 58 years until his death in 2011. Between rearing four children and completing college, she retired from a teaching career after more than twenty years.
Mrs. Scott was preceded in death by; her husband Robert Scott, her parents Jack and Laddie Hill; and two brothers Jackie and Roy Hill.
Mrs. Scott is survived by: a daughter Kathy and husband Robin Pruitt of Orlando, FL, three sons Keith and wife Kathy Scott of Trenton, TN, Kent and wife Amy Scott of Alamo, TN, and Kevin and wife Treasure Scott of Cordova, TN; nine grandchildren Matthew and wife Sam Pruitt, Brandon and wife Elizabeth Scott, Michael and wife McKenna Pruitt, Alex Schluter, Christopher and wife Sarah Pruitt, Corbin and wife Carlie Branson, Sloan Scott, Clark Scott, and Bo Scott; and nine great grandchildren with two more one the way.
