Mary Inez Ingram, age 95 of Sheffield, died Sunday, February 26, 2017.
Her funeral service will be Tuesday, 2 p.m. in the chapel of Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia with Chad Holder officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home.
She spent most of her life in Sheffield, having gone through Sheffield grade schools and high school with many of the same classmates and was valedictorian of her senior class of 1939. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a B.S. Degree in business and secretarial science. This enabled her to live and work in such places as Denver, San Francisco, and Atlanta. She retired from TVA in Chattanooga and returned to her hometown for her retirement. Inez liked to travel and her travels took her to Hawaii, Canada, Mexico and Europe including Scandinavia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. O. Ingram Sr. of Sheffield and her sister-in-law, Annette Johnson Ingram, all of Sheffield.
Inez is survived by her brother, Joseph O. Ingram Jr. of Sheffield, her sister, Shirley I. Brown and her husband David of Tuscumbia, a niece, several nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Sheffield.
