Mary Holt Owen, went to her heavenly home, Saturday, April 12, 2025. Mary was born June 2, 1934 in Oregon, MO to Homer C. and Alice Reid Holt. The Holt family moved to Alabama in 1948. Mary attended Walker County High School, Walker College and UAB.
Mary had three brothers and three sisters, was mother to three children, aunt to several nieces and nephews. She has four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Mary was proud of her activity in the Republican Party at the local, state and national levels. Mary enjoyed singing in the Messiah concert every year (health permitting), painting, and swimming. Mary most recently attended Jasper First Methodist Church.
Mary is survived by her Sister-Rebecca Holt Johnson and Children-Cynthia Owen, W. David Owen (husband Michael Hunter), and Angelia Hendon (husband Greg). Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service on Friday, April 18, 2025 at 11:00, Walker Memory Gardens. Pastor Adam Hicks will officiate.
