Mary Frances Ramey, 84, of Rogersville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2025. Frances was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church and an avid Alabama fan. Frances worked at Elgin Foodland for over 40 years. She made so many friendships over the years working there. No matter where she went, even on vacation, she ran into someone she knew. She was such a sweet soul and was loved by many.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 10th at Rogersville Funeral Home from 11-1 with a funeral service following in the chapel. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery. Caleb Gooch will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Mike Jones, Jim Davis, Randy Putman, Kenny Putman, Buster Steen and Shane Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Seth, Ryan, Levi, Braedyn, Cooper and Adrian.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Dick Ramey; parents, Charlie and Bertie Jones; brother, Charles Jones; sisters, Carolyn Staggs and Betty Putman. She is survived by her daughters, Delinda (Matt) Holderfield and Pam Hill; son, Tom Ramey; granddaughter, Chelsea Ghrigsby; grandsons, Seth (Tasha) Holderfield, Ryan (Jordan) Holderfield, Levi (Autumn) Hill; great-grandsons, Braedyn, Niko, Cooper, Morgan, Adrian, Maddux, baby Jaxon on the way; sister, Joyce Davis; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
The family would like to extend heart-felt thanks to the staff of NAMC and Preferred Hospice Care for the wonderful and loving care they gave our mom. We thank our wonderful church family at Clements Baptist Church for their prayers, texts, calls and visits. We are so grateful for the caregivers God placed in mom’s life the past few weeks. We cannot name them all but we know God placed them there for encouragement for us as well as mom.
Thanks to our friends for food and just for loving on us during this time. Mom is finally Home in the arms of Jesus.
