Mary Ellen Lockwood – Hazard, 82, of Huntsville, AL, passed away on January 18, 2025, in Crestwood Hospital. Mary’s final hours were spent with family and friends.
Mary was born in Indianapolis, IN., to James and Agnes Reese on July 20, 1942. She went to high school at Our Lady of Grace Academy and graduated in 1961. She went on to earn an LPN (Licensed Practical Nursing) degree from J.F. Drake State Community and Technical College. She worked as a nurse for Huntsville Hospital for over 20 years. She enjoyed watching sports and talking with friends and family regularly.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas Lockwood (Carolyn) of Leesport, PA and Michael Lockwood of Huntsville AL; siblings, Elizabeth Kelly, Thomas Reese, Cecelia Scott, and Patricia Failey, all of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren, Amanda Noonan (Joseph) of Hershey, PA, Emily Sarver (Matthew) of Spring City, PA, Harrison Graham of Mobile AL, and Spencer Graham of Decatur, AL; great-grandchildren, Lucas and Noah Noonan, and Hannah Sarver. She was preceded in death by her sister, Katherine Reese-Burnett.
A Celebration of Life service will be held in Indianapolis, IN, later this year.
