Mary Ellen Hobbs 92, of Ardmore,TN died Friday, January 10, 2020 at Southern Tennessee Regional Health System Pulaski, Pulaski, Tennessee.
Born Wednesday, May 11, 1927 in Hazel Green, AL, she was the daughter of the late Wesley T and Lue Ellen Hames Hughes. She lived here all her life, she was of the Baptist faith and for 15 years Mary and her husband JW ran Hobbs Grocery’s.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, J W Hobbs, brothers, Leon Hughes, Herman Hughes, Eugene Hughes , Franklin Hughes, Billy Hughes, Sisters, Margie Cothern, and Earlene Tipton.
She is survived by her sister, Gail Colbert, Toney, AL, brothers, Erskine Hughes, Huntsville, AL, Malcome “Jim” Hughes, Knoxville, TN, Bobby Hughes, Hazel Green, AL, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL, at 11:00 AM with Bro. Harold Boggs officiating. Burial will be in New Sharon Cemetery, Hazel Green, AL.
