Mary Elizabeth Moyers age 79 of Athens passed away Tuesday April 28th at her residence.
Mrs. Moyers was born May 7th 1935 in Limestone County Al to William Lee Phillips and Alice Bayless Phillips.
Her services will be Friday May 1st at 3p at Oakdale Baptist Church with the body to lie in state from 2-3p prior to the service with Brother Rick Cantrell, Dr. Robert White Jr. and Brother Eric Maddox officiating. Visitation will be Thursday April 30th from 5:30-8p at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
She was a charter member of Oakdale Baptist Church. Mrs. Moyers had a passion for geneology and loved to sing in the church choir. She once sang in the Athens State Chorus.
Survived by one daughter Stephanie Stinnett and husband Stacy of Decatur; three sons Tony Moyers and wife Ruth , Keith Moyers and Tracy Moyers and wife Shirl all of Athens. Grandchildren; Charles Stinnett, Bobby Stinnett, Mark Stinnett, Ryan Moyers and fiance’ Kim Tarwater, Laura Moyers, Tanya Mitchell, Erica Moyers, Jacob Moyers, Anna Moyers, Michael Lee Moyers. Great grandchildren: Garrett Mitchell, Gregory Mitchell and Micah Mitchell.
Pallbearers will be: Ryan Moyers, Jacob Moyers, Michael Lee Moyers, Garrett Mitchell, Larry Phillips and James Phillips. Flower bearers will be Gregory Mitchell and Micah Mitchell.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to St Jude Hospital or Hospice of North Alabama.
