Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Hamm, 75, of Tuscumbia, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018. Her visitation will be Sunday, May 6th from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Greg Beasley officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery.
She was a native of Iuka, MS and a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis “Easy” and Marcelle Murrah; and brothers, Alvis and Lloyd Murrah.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Norman Hamm; son, Johnny D. Hamm (Jena); daughters, Nancy S. Hester (Curtis) and Denita G. McGee; sisters, Nellie Counce (Charlie) and Marcia Murrah; 7 grandchildren, Meagan Phillips, Jessie Roberts, Matthew and Michael McGee, Kenny, Hunter, and Alex Hamm; 3 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons and Tyler Roberts and Demetre Phillips.
The family expresses special thanks to Kindred Home Health and Hospice and all of the doctors and nurses that cared for her.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the New Bethel Cemetery at 1175 Loop Road, Tuscumbia, AL 35674.
