Mary Elizabeth James – Obituary

Mary Elizabeth James, 78 years old of Moulton, left this world to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 11, 2013. She leaves behind a loving husband of 39 years, Thomas Junior James Sr.

Funeral service will be Thursday, March 14, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Chris Godbee and Gary Parker officiating. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. James was born June 11, 1934, in Moulton to Bascom B. Jones Sr. and Sally Griffin Jones. She was the owner of West Slawson Wrought Iron and was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; one stepdaughter, Rhonda James; two brothers, John Thomas Jones and Bascom B. Jones Jr.; and one sister, Hilda Voss.

Survivors include two sons, Allen Kruithoff and Sammy Kruithoff and Kathy, both of Town Creek; two stepsons, Thomas Junior James Jr. and Lorie of California and Rickie Joe James Sr. and Carrie of Mokane, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Linda Grace Davis of Tebbetts, Mo., and Sandra Peters of Jefferson City, Mo.; three brothers, Virgil Jones of Moulton, Jim Jones of Olive Branch, Miss., and Charles Jones of Decatur; numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Rick McDougle, Christopher Motes, Danny Voss, Jimmy Holcombe, Rodney Parker, Stacy Kruithoff and Casey Kruithoff.

The family would like to express their appreciation for all the prayers, visits and food during her courageous battle with cancer. She will be greatly missed, but our hearts are lightened by knowing she is flying with the angels in heaven today.
