Mary Elizabeth Cheatham, age 85, of Decatur went to be with her Lord and Savior May 21, 2017. Funeral will be Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Bro. Randy Berry officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Cheatham Cemetery. Visitation will be May 24, at 12:00 p.m. and funeral at 1:00 pm at Shelton Funeral Home.
She was born 9/29/31 in Morgan County to Theron H. Lang and Lovella M. Norman. She retired from Wayne Farms after 36 years of service. After retiring she was an avid bingo player and loved her trips to the Great Smokey Mountains. She was the heart and foundation of our family. She lived her life for her children and precious grandchildren and great children. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and one son Gary D. Cheatham.
She is survived by 5 sons, Wayman Cheatham (Jean), Michael Cheatham (Betty), Wendell Cheatham (Patsy), Johnny Cheatham (Sara), and Randy Cheatham; one daughter, Melinda Marmann and one daughter-in-law Debbie Cheatham; 14 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren, two brothers, Bobby Lang (Wanda) and Freddie Mitchell (Celine); and one life long friend Wanda Griffin.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
