From the family…Our mother, Mary E. Stringfellow left this world to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at the age of 95. She will be sadly missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
The former Ms. Mary E. Davis was born in Rome, GA on May 31, 1927, daughter of the late Willian and Lona Davis.
She was well-blessed with very devoted friends and her church family at Huntsville Park Baptist Church. Her love of gospel music is what kept her going for 95 years.
She worked for Hughes Aircraft Co. in California on TOW Missile System and Chrysler Corp. (military side) in Huntsville on the Saturn Rocket before retiring,
Survivors include her children: Beverly Van Oostrum (Graham), Don Stringfellow (Joyce), and Barbara S. Kilbourn (Andy); grandchildren: Michael Hamlin (Marsha), Brandi McCormack (Jeff), Kristin Hall (Winston), Michelle Kniss (Peter), Adam Kilbourn (Anna), and Rachael Kilbourn; great-grandchildren: Jack McCormack, Anna McCormack, Walker Rushing, Kennedi Norwood, Kai Tucker, Stephenie Martin, Sydney Kilbourn, and Brynley Kilbourn; and several nieces and nephews. Also, survived by her only sibling, Katherine Davis of Macon, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlis Stringfellow; grandson Dustin Norwood; several brothers, sisters and a nephew.
The family will receive friends Friday, February 24th from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at Berryhill Funeral Home, followed by memorial service at 11:00 with Rev. Mylon Metcalf officiating.
