Mary Duke Guldan Mary Duke Guldan, beloved daughter, sister, niece, and friend departed from this life on Monday, January 31, 2022, at the age of 73, in the company of her adoring family.

She was born the daughter of the late John Austin and Gloria Ann (Randolph) Guldan, on Wednesday, November 3, 1948. Other than her parents she is preceded in death by sisters, Ann Sloan Guldan, and Elizabeth Helen Guldan.

A very enthusiastic lady with a great love for many things, Mary Duke was a graduate of the London Art Institute. The knowledge she gained within that program coupled with her inspirational spirit led her to many accomplishments within her beloved church. She used her eccentric nature to impact the lives of numerous children and adults during her more than 40 years as a librarian and teacher at St. Mary’s Catholic School. She had a personality that was bigger than life and her contributions, whether in conversations, her personal creations, or her love for bright clothes and colors was more than captivating. Mary Duke and her beloved aunt, Pat Randolph, were known for their kindness and generosity even though they were very discreet in their actions. They lived a very modest life, in an attempt, to help as many people as they could. One of their most thoughtful efforts was the donation to and development of the Randolph-Guldan Library at St. Mary’s Catholic School. It is a fruit of labor that will serve the children of the school for many years to come.

Mary Duke lived life to the fullest and graciously shared her many gifts with everyone. She had a fierce obedience to the untamed “wild goose”, the Holy Spirit, which led her to follow God’s Will no matter the cost and eventually led her home into God’s love.

She will be tremendously missed and never forgotten by brother, Peter Guldan of Memphis, TN; aunt, Patricia “Pat” Randolph of Jackson, TN; and many other family members, friends and neighbors who will mourn her passing.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 2, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
