Mrs. Mary Daphne Killen Hines, 87, of Killen, died Saturday June 14, 2014. Visitation will begin at 1pm Tuesday at Greenview Funeral Home followed by the service at 3pm in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Brother Tommy James and Brother Mike Nash will officiate. Burial will follow in Tri Cities Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be her grandsons; Brandon Hines, Brian Hines, Greg Reed, Randal Hines, Marcus Hines and Shawn Hines.
Mrs. Hines was born in Florence to the late Willie Lee Killen and Minnie Jane Sharp Killen on August 7, 1926. She was a member of Faith Church and a home maker.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 61 years, Joe Hines, Sr.; brothers, Buddy Killen and Burt Killen; sisters, Odell Killen Dickson and June Killen Darby; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Joseph Preston Hines Jr. (Peggy), Wayne Hines (Betty), David Hines (Cathy), Randy Hines (Sherry), Ray Hines and Mickey Hines (Shelia); daughter, Melba Simbeck (Danny); sisters, Joyce Jackson, and Clara Haygood; 19 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Leigh and Priscilla from Amedisys Hospice and special sister-in-law, Martha Jo Killen for the exceptional care and compassion shown to their mother during her illness.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made in Mrs. Hines’ name to the Restoration Ranch, 722 Little Israel Rd., Tuscumbia, AL, 35674.
