Mary "Chris" Christine OzbirnMary Christine “Chris” Ozbirn, 75, Tuscumbia, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024. She was born in Clinton, South Carolina on December 08, 1948.

She was founder and served as Director of the Franklin County Archives in Russellville for 20 years and was the Franklin County Historian for more than 30 years. She had served as President of the Tennessee Valley Historical Society for 8 years and was a member of multiple historical societies. She was a board member for the Muscle Shoals National Heritage Area. She attended First Baptist Church Colbert Heights.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilton Ozbirn; parents, Loyd and Mary Strickland Taylor; sister, Cathy Ann Wright; brother, Loyd Haskell Taylor. She is survived by her children, Thomas Johnson and Buffie Ozbirn of the home and “fur” grandbaby, Jody; and brother, James Adair, Hickory, NC., and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 11-1, at Spry Memorial Chapel, with a graveside service at 2 at the Old Town Cemetery on Washington Avenue in Russellville, open to everyone.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Smith, Grant Atkins, Scott Mugno, Jamie Reeves, Mark Swindle and Shannon Wilson. Honorary pallbearers will be TVHS Board members and Seekers of the Past members.
