Mary Ann Carter, 65, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2026 at her home in Gurley with her family by her side.
She is survived by her mother, Peggy Ann Hutchens Elledge; her children, Kelley Michelle Jones-Brown, David Daniel Brown, Billy Matthew Jones III, and Christy Michelle Mount; her grandchildren, Zachary Thompson (Breanna Crowe), Brice Thompson (Lexi Marshall), Pierce Goddard (Destiny Holt), Fisher Brown, Elizabeth Jones, Caleb Jones (Shelby Montgomery), Brayden Gardner, Autumn Waldman (Garrett) and Shyanne Mount; her great-grandchildren, Paisley Kay Thompson, Harper, Madilynn, and James Dean Waldman; her siblings, Larry Elledge (AJ Blackman), Tina Graham (Andy), Tammy Majors (John), James Elledge (Johnny), Lisa Chastain (Greg) and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and beloved family and friends.
Mary will be remembered most for her kindness and her deep love for her children and grandchildren. Those she left behind will miss her deeply as she reunites with her loving husband, James Anthony Mann; her father, James Elledge Sr.; her grandparents, John and Rosie Bell Hutchens; and her sister, Loretta Elledge. In accordance with her wishes, cremation services were handled by Cremation Services of East Alabama, and her ashes will be buried with her mother in Gurley Cemetery at the time of her passing. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
