Mary Alice Smith, age 90, formerly of Tuscumbia, passed away on June 27, 2017. Visitation will be today, July 3, 2017 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1828 Broadway Boulevard, Florence. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.
She was married and sealed to Wiley Smith for 63 years. They had three children, Faye, Donna, and David, 26 Grandchildren, 76 great-grandchildren, and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Mary was the daughter of James and Mary Scott and had four sisters: Betty, Anne, Ernestine, and Doris. They loved playing Canasta together.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved the Lord and shared his gospel with everyone. She loved watching old movies, Alabama football, and the Atlanta Braves. Her lifelong passion was genealogy. She wrote three books and over 100 poems. Mary was an inspiration and a wonderful woman who will be missed by everyone, especially those who loved her.
