Mrs. Mary Alice McDaniel left this earthly home for a better home with the Lord on Sept. 27, 2016. She was born on Sept. 25, 1924, and gave her life to Christ at an early age. She was a member of Tennessee Valley Community Church and Order of the Eastern Star No. 599. She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Luke McDaniel, and a son, William McDaniel.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories a daughter, Reta Smith; a son, Luke McDaniel Jr. (Hattie); and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. McDaniel will be 11 a.m. today at Greater St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church, Florence, Alabama.
Reverend Frederick Perkins is officiating and Reverend Alvelyn Sanders is pastor.
Burial is in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Florence, Alabama.
The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m.
Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Florence, is directing.
