Mary Alice Elizabeth Braswell Belew, 79, a native of Leoma, Tennessee, and the daughter of the late Emmett E. and Grace Wilder Braswell, passed away at her home on September 25, 2026. She was born on July 23, 1947.
Mary Alice was a homemaker who devoted her life to her home and family. She was a member of Leoma Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Hershel, Gerald, Horace Neal, and Edward Braswell; and her son-in-law John Reischman.
She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Carroll Stanley Belew; two daughters, Alison Belew Reischman of Columbia, Tennessee, and Carolee (John) Belew Johnston of Villa Rica, Georgia; one sister, Linda Vanderford of Leoma, Tennessee; and three grandchildren, Luke and Kyleigh Reischman, both of Columbia, Tennessee, and Emma Osborne of Villa Rica, Georgia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at Center Point Methodist Cemetery at 11:30 AM Thursday, October 1, 2026, with Arnold Brown officiating. The family suggests memorials be made to the Center Point Methodist Cemetery.
