Mary Alice Daniel 87, of Muscle Shoals, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016. Visitation will be 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Woodward Avenue Baptist Church. The funeral service will be 3:00 pm Sunday at the church. Interment will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Dr. Tom Whatley and Dr. William Rushing will officiate.
Mrs. Daniel was a native of Fayette County, AL and lived most of her life in Muscle Shoals, AL. She was a teacher of English at Sheffield High School before becoming a private piano teacher. She was a charter member of the Woodward Ave. Baptist Church. She taught the Ruth Sunday School Class and was organist for 60 years at Woodward Ave. Baptist. She was also the organizer of the “We Ain’t Dead Yet” band and an active member of the XYZ Club within the senior ministry of the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gurnee M. Daniel; mother Eunice Smith and father William B. Smith; son David M. Daniel and grandson-in-law Heath Bain.
Survivors are: son Jeff Daniel (Maray); daughter Jennifer Daniel Harbin (John); grandchildren Seth Daniel (Morgan), Melissa Daniel Bain, Sarah Daniel Caldwell (Ryan), Mary Daniel, John Daniel Harbin, and Jacob Harbin; great-grandchildren Christian Daniel and Jackson Daniel.
Pallbearers will be Terrell Benton, Ryan Caldwell, Tim Zuelke, Ken Sockwell, David Steele, and Jimmy McGee.
Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Foster and Bill Howell.
