Mrs. Mary Alene Hunt Spires, 82, a native of Lauderdale County, passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at her residence following an extended illness. She was a member of Petersville Church of Christ.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 11 – 1 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home with the funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Sonny Owens. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Mrs. Spires was preceded in death by her husband, Granville Spires; parents, Solon and Beulah Blackwood Hunt; and a niece, Rhonda Mask.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathryn “Kathy” Spires Simpson and husband David, Carla Ann Spires Hale; brother, William “Bill” Hunt; nieces, Debra Hunt Nowlin, Melanie Hunt Munro; grandchildren, Emily Simpson Holden and husband Jeremy, Jacob David Simpson; grandchild, Alene Paige Holden; grandpups, Puddles and Bentley Hale.
Pallbearers will be David Simpson, David Hale, Jacob Simpson, Jeremy Holden, Kelly Crotts, and Scott Irons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of North Alabama.
