Marvinteen Bowden Black
December 24, 1929 – January 3, 2022
Marvinteen’s life began in 1929 on Christmas Even in Palatka, Arkansas. It began again in 1955 when she met her future husband in Illinois, then married him April 3, 1956 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They honeymooned in Huntsville, Alabama, lived a short time in Illinois, then returned to settle in Huntsville where they had a wonderful life. Their life was centered around Covenant Presbyterian Church where they were charter members and met most of their close friends. Marv served her church as a Deacon, in the nursery, church office, Women’s Circle, and outreach, some of which included Presbyterian Children’s Home, Second Mile/Neighborhood Store and Meals on Wheels. She loved to be outside and was an avid gardener. She is now enjoying eternity in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, with all those friends and loved ones that have gone before her.
Marvinteen was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Alexander Miller Black, as well as her parents, and her beloved sister, Mardelle Bowden Nelms. Survivors include her daughter, Karen Black Conners (Rex), son, Timothy Alexander Black (Diana); and six grandchildren, Cameron Conners, Amelia Conners, Braxton Conners, Olivia Conners, Martin Black and Elisabeth Black.
