Marvin Todd, age 96, passed away on August 5th, 2026.
Born on March 22nd, 1930, Marvin was the youngest of eleven children born to the late William Wilson Todd and Flora Ann Wooten Todd. A proud veteran of the United States Army, Marvin honorably served his country during the Korean War.
Marvin dedicated 42 years of his career to Redstone Arsenal and NASA, where his hard work and commitment earned the respect of those around him. In addition to his professional career, he was a talented builder who enjoyed constructing homes and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
A faithful member of First Christian Church, Marvin served as a deacon and volunteered in countless ways throughout the years. His unwavering faith and servant’s heart were evident in the love and care he showed to his church family and community.
In his spare time, Marvin found great joy in fishing, gardening, and spending precious time with his family, especially his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, kind spirit, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Peggy Todd; his brother, Hezzie Todd; and his sisters, Hazel Hill and Oma Jackson.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Harriette Todd; sons, Andy Todd (Cathy) and Brian Todd; grandchildren, Mat Todd, Daniel Todd, Lacey Todd, and Sam Todd; great-grandchildren, Loren Elizabeth Todd, Anna LynnTodd, Ella Brooks Todd, Cora Lu Todd, and Braxton Todd; along with many extended family members and dear friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 8th, 2026 at First Christian Church with Clint Coffey officiating. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Athens City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mat Todd, Daniel Todd, Burt Nelson, Alan Boyd, Joe Sims, and Ovie Porter. Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Todd and Brian Todd.
