Marvin Thomas Thigpen, 86, of Florence, passed away March 22, 2015, at ECM Hospital. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church.
Visitation will be today from 1-3 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Chris Underwood and the Rev. Ryan Tyler officiating. Burial will follow in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Family will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Thigpen was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Mary Thigpen, brother, John Thigpen, and sister, Mae Newton.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Tucker Thigpen; son, Thomas Thigpen (Darline); sisters, Martha Bass, Dorothy McCanless, and Mary Fowler (Phillip); grandchildren, Sarah Nicole Peeden (Eddie) and Amanda Melissa McFall (Brent); and great-grandchildren, Kimberly Estes and Katie Beth Peeden.
The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church building fund or the charity of your choice.
