Marvin Ray Humphries, 84, died Thursday, January 24, 2018 at his residence. He was born September 12, 1933 in Franklin County, AL and was an appliance business owner. He was manager at Tiffin TV and Appliance for many years, a partner at Triple H Electronics and had worked as a DJ for WRMG Radio. He was a former city council member, a member of the Civitans and had served on the Gas and Water Board. He was a member of Cornerstone Church of God.

Services will be Saturday, January 27, 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Church of God, Red Bay, AL with Bro. Rick Bradley and Bro. W.D. Humphries officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Vina, AL. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of sixty-six years – Helen Humphries, Red Bay, AL; two sons-  David Humphries (Barbra) Red Bay, AL and Dennis Humphries, Nashville, TN; six grandchildren – Dustin Humphries, Derek Humphries (Sheena), Dallas Humphries (Kayla), Melanie McKinney, Marisa Wingo (Isaac) and Maria Davis (Jamie); eight great-grandchildren – Laken Raper (Brock), Tra Elliott, Abby Hicks, Macie Humphries, Leighton Humphries, Isiah Wingo, Asher Wingo and Wyatt Davis; daughter-in-law – Debbie Humphries Lindsey; three brothers – Loyd Humphres (Brenda), Jerry Humphres (Cheryl) and Hubert Humphres (Paulette) and three sisters – Marie Holland, Oneda Parrish (Leon) and Verniece Holland.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dannie Ray Humphries; parents, Vess and Dora Bell Humphries and his father and mother-in-law, Sebe and Icie Hutcheson.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons – Dustin Humphries, Derek Humphries, Dallas Humphries, Tra Elliott, Isaac Wingo, Jamie Davis and Brock Raper. Honorary pallbearers will be Oneal Jackson and Marty Vanderford.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 27, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Cornerstone Church of God.
