Marvin Odell Mitchell, Sr. age 76 of Dilworth, passed away Sunday September 18, 2016. Brother Mitchell was a member of Maryland Masonic Lodge #783 in Sipsey; he was an avid Alabama football fan; he was a Master carpenter; and he loved people.
Funeral services will be Tuesday September 20, 2016 at 11:00 am in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Dr. Sammie Reid will officiate. Burial with Masonic rites will follow at Dilworth Church of God Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 10-11 am at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Clara Mae Savage and his brother, Jack Mitchell.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Elizabeth Mitchell; children, Marvin Mitchell and wife Kristy; Tina Teal and husband Jimmy, Sheila Niblett and husband Alex, Gene Clayton and Sissie Ireland and husband Hugo; 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brother, Lawrence Mitchell and wife Diane; sister, Josephine Roberts and husband Floyd; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
