Marvin DuVall, age 74, passed away peacefully from this life after a decline in heath, at home surrounded and supported by his family. The service is 4 p.m. Sunday, August 4, 2024 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery will follow the service. Pallbearers: John Spencer, Bill Christian, Trent Burton, Ryan Barber, Harry DuVall, and Mike MacLennan. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 p.m. until the service at 4 p.m.
Marvin Lee DuVall was born February 7, 1950 to Bruce and Velda DuVall and raised in Buffalo IN. He built a life in Tennessee after graduating from North White High School and serving in the United States Marine Corps. He graduated from Nashville Auto Diesel College. With the help of his wife Al, he established a family farm in Lebanon TN in 1982. He retired in 2015 from ABF to continue farming full time. Marvin enjoyed real country music and bluegrass and watching the old westerns. He was a very hard worker and took great pride in his family.
Mr. DuVall is survived by his best friend of a lifetime and wife of 45 years, Alva “Al” McCormack DuVall; children: Quintina (Trent) Burton, Lindsey (Ryan) Barber, and Dustin DuVall; grandchildren: Tristyn Burton, Aliya Burton and Rowan Barber; sisters: Janice Spencer and Kay (Joe) Martinez; nieces and nephews; Amy Douglas, John Spencer, Kathleen Martinez, Bill Christian, and Kyle Williams; great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. He is preceded in death by parents Velda Gilmore and Bruce DuVall, brother Jack DuVall, sister-in-law Ruth DuVall, brother still missing in action from the Vietnam conflict, Chief Master Sergeant Dean A. DuVall, sister Carol DuVall Christian, brothers-in-law William Christian and Wayne Spencer, niece Karen DuVall, and nephew Michael Martinez.
