marvinRev. Marvin Curtis Champion, age 83, of Waynesboro, TN passed away Monday, June 06, 2016 at Waynesboro Health and Rehabilitation Center in Waynesboro, TN. He was a native of Worth County, GA, graduated from Hiwassee College with an Associates Degree, Scarritt College with a Bachelors Degree, and an alumnus of Vanderbilt Divinity School. Rev. Champion was a retired United Methodist Minister and Elder. He was also a member of Lawrenceburg Rotary Club, Tennessee Conference of United Methodist Church and First United Methodist Church of Waynesboro.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Denver and Thelma Wade Champion.

Rick Champion (Ryan), Colorado Springs, CO

All Ministers of the Gospel will be serving as honorary pallbearers.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Sunday, June 19, 2016 at Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be conducted at Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church at 5:00 PM Sunday, June 19, 2016, with Rickey Wade officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Zion Hope Cemetery in Arabi, Georgia. Family suggests memorials be made to Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church Building Fund, First United Methodist Church of Waynesboro Building Fund, or the American Cancer Society.
