A Celebration of Life for Marvin Bonner Jr., 54, of Decatur will be noon Saturday at Bridge Builders Church International with inhumation to follow in Sterrs Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to the funeral. Public viewing will be today from 2-6 and Friday from 10-7 at Reynolds Funeral Home.

Marvin Bonner Jr., son of the late Marvin Bonner Sr. and Gertrude Sykes Napper, entered this world on Oct. 10, 1962, in Decatur. He departed this life on Dec. 27, 2016 at his residence.

Marvin Jr. earned his education in the Decatur School System. He later attended Calhoun Community College where he earned a technical degree in machine shop. He was employed with Saginaw, which later became Delphi for several years.

Early in life, Marvin Jr. accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and joined St. James Cumberland Presbyterian Church under the leadership of Rev. Theodore Bone. Later in life, he joined Bridge Builders International Church under the leadership of Pastors Darius and Alesia Crayton where he remained until he left to be with his Eternal Father.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings, James, Margret Ann, Angela and Dorothy.

He leaves to cherish brothers, Bobby Joe Pride (Dean) of Athens, Larry and Michael Pride of Decatur; sisters, Annie Wherry of Decatur, Rose Marie Wilkerson (Tony) of Nashville, Tennessee, Rose Mary Allen (George) and Diana Wherry of Decatur; a special niece, Corrie Baker of Decatur; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
